A mum has claimed her neighbour sent her a brutal note demanding she limits her toddler to just 15 minutes outside each day as his laughter ‘upsets her dogs’.
A picture of the full message went viral on Twitter after it was shared with the caption: “Yes, this is real.”
It appears the sender in the US had reached boiling point and decided to let their feelings known with a strongly worded letter, in which they threatened to get the police involved if it didn’t stop.
The bizarre note left others on social media stunned as they replied with suggestions for revenge, including buying her toddler a drum set, or pots and pans to bang together.
It reads: “Dear ‘neighbor’. You just moved into this neighbourhood a year ago, and I wanted to give you time to correct this problem on your own, but you are apparently too inconsiderate to do so.
“Every day this week when weather has been nice and windows are open, you proceed to let your small child run free in your backyard and laugh and giggle and carry on without end.
“This is very disruptive for my two dogs and my bird who sits next to the window and likes to look into your yard.
“Perhaps you could ask him to tone it down a bit, or at least limit his outside time to 15-20 minutes a day so my dogs can be outside without seeing him running around.
“If this kind of behaviour persists, I WILL CALL THE POLICE.”
Many thought the note was so ridiculous it would have to be a hoax, but it didn’t stop it being shared thousands of time on social media.
It’s recently resurfaced after first going viral back in 2015, with one person replying: “I think you need to buy your child a horn”, with the mum replying: “I was thinking a drum set.”
Another wrote: “Let that person call the police. They are going to look insane. Give your child large, loud musical instruments or pots and pans to bang!!!”
